Frequently Asked Questions
Here is a list of questions we're asked quite a bit. We decided to compile all the answers together in one place to make things more convenient. Please let us know if you think we've left anything out, or if you have any questions or comments. Select the section listed below to jump to the information about that topic:
Orders:
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Paypal. Just put the items you want in your shopping cart, select a payment method, and check out. Our server is secure and safe for sending your payment information.
Is it safe to use my credit card here?
Yes, it is very safe. Our order form is on a secure server, so you don't have to worry about repercussions from ordering by credit card.
What happens if my credit card is declined?
If the credit card number you provide with your order is declined when we try to charge it, we will notify you and ask for a different card number. In cases where we have several declined charges from one customer, a $3.00 bank processing fee will apply. This is to offset the additional fees we have to pay the bank ourselves when this happens.
Preorders:
How do preorders work?
Put preorders into your shopping cart just like you would any other item. If you pay for preorders by credit card (Visa or Mastercard), you will be charged 10% of the subtotal (non-refundable) at the time you order. You will be charged the remainder of the total once the preordered items are in stock here and ready to ship to you. If you pay by Paypal, you must pay the entire subtotal (non-refundable) at the time you place the order. With either payment method, you will be billed at the time the item is in stock for the amount of the shipping cost. We'll just keep your information and order on file and make the charge as soon as the items you want are released.
Note about high value preorders...
Any items with a preorder price of $200 or above each require full payment at the time of your preorder. You will be charged the full amount for any item in this price category at the time you place your order. Once the item is released to us, we will charge the shipping amount and send your order to you.
Why Preorder?
Many of the items we carry are in high demand and sell out as soon as we get them in stock. To get ahead of the rest of the pack, you can preorder upcoming items. When you place a preorder, we increase our order with the manufacturer to be sure to cover your order. A large amount of our stock tends to sell out through preorder, meaning that it never even goes onto the website for general sales after it is released. In those cases, preordering is the only way to get those items through us.
How is shipping handled for preorders?
All preorders will be shipped by UPS Ground or (for customers outside the US) standard USPS airmail. If you prefer a different shipping method, please make a note in the comments section of your order form. Because shipping is calculated by weight, we do not give a shipping and handling price for preorders at the time the orders are placed. The shipping will be applied at the time the charge is made and the order is shipped.
When will my preordered item ship to me?
Many items available for advance order are listed with release dates. These dates are tentative. Occasionally companies fall behind in production, and items will be released later than planned.
Am I guaranteed to get my preorder?
In rare circumstances, we may not receive our entire order of an item all at once. Those cases are caused by allocations from the supplier, usually on limited run items. When allocations occur, we fill preorders beginning with the earliest orders placed and continue filling the rest of the preorders as soon as the rest of the stock arrives. Allocations are not common, but we do have this policy in place to help ensure that customers who advance order items will get their orders as quickly as possible. If we do learn that we will not be receiving your item, we will notify you as quickly as possible and will refund any deposit you have made, as your choice of a monetary credit back to you or as store credit.
Pricing and Availability:
How do you set your prices?
For new and preordered items, we base our prices on our own cost. Depending on the amount we have to pay the distributors, we're usually able to offer new items at discounted prices.
For back issue comics, card singles, and older items, we set our prices based on current price guide quotes, along with a general sense of what we think is a fair price.
New toys will be sold for the lowest prices we can manage, based on our costs to the distributors or manufacturers. We will not compete with our customers by buying new toys at retail prices and marking them up to unreasonable amounts.
Where do you get your inventory?
Do you charge sales tax?
We charge sales tax for orders from within Florida. If we ship your order outside of Florida, there is no sales tax.
Do you actually have all these listed items in stock?
Due to the high demand for some of the items we carry and our rapidly changing inventory, some items shown as "in stock" on the site may not be in stock. We update the site's product listings periodically each day, so we usually do have available everything you see listed as being in stock. If you do place an order for something that is out of stock, though, we will notify you, and you won't be charged for the item.
What is your policy on action figure assortments?
When possible, we offer preorders on action figures in sets, based on the assortments in which they ship. Occasionally the manufacturer will change an assortment before it actually ships out or will not pack case assortments with the advertised selection of toys. In situations like that, figures we advertised might not actually be produced, or figures might be swapped out of the sets that are actually made. When that happens, we will adjust your price on the set accordingly.
Additionally, we cannot break up sets that are advertised on the site as being in-stock. We can sell action figures only in the sets and assortments listed.
Shipping:
How do you ship orders and determine shipping prices?
You have a choice between United States Postal Service or UPS for domestic shipping. Orders shipped internationally will go by the US Postal Service. Our shopping cart software tries to minimize the postage cost, based on the weight and sizes of the items you've ordered, as well as where you're having them shipped. A small handling fee is applied to cover our cost in packing and shipping.
How soon will you ship my order?
If your order is a preorder, we will ship the items as soon as we get them from the distributor. Regular orders typically ship 1-3 business days after we receive payment, most of them going out within 48 hours.
How are orders packaged?
We pack all of our shipments securely so as to minimize the chances of damage in transit. All comic books are bagged and boarded at no extra charge. Card singles are shipped in protective sleeves in reinforced packages. Toys and other items will be sent in boxes with packing material as appropriate.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, we ship internationally! Our shopping cart is configured to compute the shipping prices accurately for international orders. The rates our website quotes cover the actual delivery of the package from our warehouse to your country. Any additional fees or rates your particular country may charge upon arrival do not go to us, so they'll have to be your responsibility.
Returns:
What is your returns policy?
Customer satisfaction is our priority. If you are dissatisfied with any item you purchase from our web site due to an error we made, you can return it to us within one week of receiving it. Please e-mail us before returning any items so that we'll know to expect it and can give you a return authorization number. Be sure to return the item within one week of getting the RA number, and include the return authorization number and the original receipt / packing list with your return, or we won't be able to process the return for you.
